Slemmons Family

Seth and Aaron Slemmons grew up on a family farm where their dad, Frank, owned a piece of equipment to install farm drainage tile. Frank had the ability to install tile on not only his own farm, but other local farms as well. Because of this, Seth and Aaron, gained their knowledge about farm drainage, how to install tile and why it is so important.

In 2003, Seth quit his job to begin an excavating business full time, which soon evolved into more of a farm drainage company. Aaron joined him at the onset.

Located in West Liberty, Ohio, Slemmons Excavating currently has 12 full-time employees of various construction or heavy equipment operating backgrounds. Aaron serves as the micro-manager of behind the scenes items, whereas Seth's role is the big picture - finding work and getting it ready.

One way that Slemons stands out from our competitors is our use of GPS technology to create a topography map of a farm field. We are then able to bring that map back to the office and draw a plan and get an estimate to explain to the farmer the cost per acre, among other things. This allows farmers to plan ahead and budget. In turn, our product improves their farm and pays for their investment in their farm drainage system.
